Dr. Stephen M. Morse of Texas Tech University is an expert on the design of window glass in buildings, including the use of structural glass.  In his webinar, Dr. Morse will cover design standard updates in the upcoming ASTM E1300 release, as well as window glass design and structural glass design.

 

About the Presenter:

Stephen Morse is an assistant professor at Texas Tech University in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Construction Engineering. He has extensive experience in model scale and full scale testing, numerical modeling and software development. Stephen’s research interests include window glass strength, wind loads on structures and finite element analysis.  He is currently researching the strength reduction caused by ceramic frit on glass, modeling of laminated glass interlayers, strength of weathered window glass and structural use of glass.  For the past ten years Stephen has served as a technical adviser on the ASTM subcommittee responsible for maintaining and updating the national window glass standard, ASTM E1300. Stephen has contributed and authored key provisions to the standard including the addition of a generalized analytical procedure, expanded NFL charts and updated examples.
